Monster Mud Madness!

We haven’t played with monster mud in quite some time. Yesterday only about an hour until kids headed home we were feeling restless and looking for something fun to do. The recent warm up has turned our outside area into a good mix of swimming pool and skating rink, having gone out once already I wasn’t feeling up for the wet clothes and crying toddlers.

Luckily I still had a little cornstarch in my cupboard. I filled each child’s tray with a healthy helping of cornstarch and then we slowly added water until we got the consistency we were looking for! Goopy, drippy, messy, melting Monster Mud! I don’t know if it was the consistency of the monster mud or if it was just because we haven’t played with it in months but the boys were in heaven. They played with it for well over an hour, watching it drip and melt. We added colors (and of course cars), blue and yellow and watched them mix and swirl.

The almost therapeutic feeling of monster mud in between your fingers is something that can make even the wildest day seem to melt between your fingers. That is until you have to pick up the mess 🙂DSCN0919 DSCN0921 DSCN0922
